This week’s summer recreation program at West Unity Memorial Park was extra special: the West Unity Police Department dropped by, giving kids an up-close look at their roles and duties.
Children explored the police cruiser, greeted officers, and even learned how to take fingerprints. Held on Monday, July 21, 2025, the afternoon included a hands-on “career-day” experience encouraging curiosity and respect for local law enforcement.
Weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the Summer Rec program of West Unity offers entertaining games, educational activities, and local visitors for children to enjoy. Paired with the summer lunch program, approximately 21 meals were served on Monday.
Noelle Ann Marie Chester of West Unity takes charge of offering the daily programs, and often includes local firefighters, town administrators, and even visits from the Williams County EMS to help keep young children active and engaged with their community.
