The Superior Township Trustees met Tuesday, July 7, 2026, to receive updates on potential grant funding for township signs and cemetery improvements.

Trustees Dan Gillen, Michael Trausch, Jacob Borton, and Fiscal Officer Vanessa Shepard were in attendance. Road Supervisor Cody Boyd was also present.

The trustees first approved the minutes of their previous meeting with a minor correction to the spelling of a street name.

Under old business, trustees discussed the status of a previously applied sign grant application. This program would provide replacement signs for the township if awarded. However, the trustees are not expected to learn if they received funding until August or September of this year.

Another potential grant for the township is underway. The trustees approved a motion to file for the “Fackler Masonry Sign Improvement” grant. They can be awarded up to $5,000 for a sign replacement for the cemetery.

Road Supervisor Boyd also provided updates on township maintenance operations. Upkeep is continuing throughout the summer, though the township is still waiting on repairs for some of its mowing equipment. Boyd reported four burials and the sale of five cemetery plots.

Under new business, the trustees approved a resolution accepting the 2026 tax rates and amounts certified by the Williams County Budget Commission. This is an annual action that formally accepts the rates and amounts necessary for tax collection.

With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 4:05 p.m. The next Superior Township meeting is scheduled for July 21, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.
