TAAC FOOTBALL: Montpelier Doubles Up Ottawa Hills, 36-18

MONTPELIER – Montpelier doubled up on Ottawa Hills on Homecoming Night as the Locos topped Ottawa Hills, 36-18, in Toledo Area Athletic Conference action on Friday, October 3.

Locos’ quarterback Hayden Sharps scored on a pair of touchdown runs covering 26 and three yards. He finished with 76 yards on ten carries and completed 10 of 16 passes for 172 yards and a score.


Sharps connected with Jaxson Stahler on a three-yard pass in the second quarter. Griffin Cooley scored on a 26-yard run in the first quarter and finished with 48 yards on nine carries. He also caught three passes for 65 yards.

Carter Meek added 67 yards on the ground on 10 carries including a 8-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter for Montpelier.

Montpelier outgained Ottawa Hills, 360-192, taking advantage of a balanced offensive attack (188 rushing, 172 passing) while improving to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in the TAAC.


Ottawa Hills fell to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in the TAAC. Montpelier travels to Hilltop for a TAAC matchup on Friday.
