Ted Mercer (1959-2018)

Ted B. Mercer, 59, of Bryan, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Mercy Heart and Vascular Center at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He was born on September 12, 1959 to Ira M. and Virginia M. (Borton) Mercer in Montpelier. Ted attended North Central High School. On July 4, 1989 he married Kimberly K. Hinton and she survives.

 Ted was owner and operator of TH Pallets Service in Bryan since 1995. He also worked as a machinist at Chase Brass in Holiday City for over 20 years. From 1988-1995 he worked at MHE in Edgerton. Ted previously served on the Madison Township Fire Department for 10 years. He had a great love for farming and for raising cattle.

 Ted is survived by his wife of 29 years, Kimberly K. Mercer of Bryan; three sons, Tom (Kelly) Harding of Defiance, Jason “Jake” (Heather) Mercer of Pioneer and Tracy (Misty) Harding of Bryan; ten grandchildren, Reno, Justin, Scout, Faith, Ashwhyn, Kirian, Travis, Cade, Case and Cole; two brothers, Terry (Mary) Mercer of Manitou Beach, MI and Denny (Melanie) Mercer of Alvordton; one sister, Cindy Bonwell of West Unity; two brothers-in-law, Mike (Gail) Hinton and Tom (Jana) Hinton both of Texas; special niece, Tiffany (Hinton) Carlin of Bryan; and several other nieces, nephews and family members.  

 He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Dave Bonwell and niece, Sarah Hinton.

 Visitation for Ted will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 1-7 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Minister Larry Snow to officiate. Interment with will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.

Memorial contributions may be made to “Home Away from Home” through Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center or to Mercy Heart and Vascular Center. Online condolences may be left at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
