The office of Northwest Ohio Athletic League Commissioner Ken Baumgartner has recently published their listing of the NWOAL Scholar Athletes for the Winter 2013-14 season. Three local students have made the grade to appear on the list.

To be named to the NWOAL Winter Scholar Athlete list, a student must be a senior, must carry a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average through six semesters of school, and must have lettered during the sports season.

Being named to the ranks of NWOAL Scholar Athlete for the winter season were Kevin Moden, the lone senior on the state-contending Wauseon Bowling staff. Two were named from the Montpelier Lady Locomotives’ basketball team. Carrying the All-League academic banner for the Big Blue were the only seniors on the squad, Marinna Mercer and Regan Steffes.
