Alvordton hosted its annual Plow Days on Saturday, August 9, 2025, drawing tractor enthusiasts and community members to the fields for a day of tradition and camaraderie.
The Alvordton-Millcreek Township Fire Department served its well-known Chicken BBQ at 12:00 p.m., offering dine-in and carryout meals only.
Meals were priced at $13 and proved to be quickly popular among attendees, as the meals ran out before 3:00 p.m. Other options included homemade sausage sandwiches, sides, and an assortment of desserts to choose from.
Plow Days featured vintage tractors, with participants encouraged to bring machines 40 years or older. Same-day registration began at 10:00 a.m., followed by plowing at 11:00 a.m., continuing into the late afternoon.
Spectators of all ages could enjoy watching the plows at work, along with tractor rides around the farm for the children.
An annual raffle sponsored by the Unity Antique Power club featured a variety of prizes to win. Each ticket earned you a spot to claim a handmade quilt, cooler, or for the first-place winner — a brand new tractor!
New this year, the day concluded with a live band performing from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., adding music and dancing to the community gathering.
