Joining forces to assist both their students and those adults within their collective boundary that find themselves in the unemployment line, the school districts of Montpelier, Millcreek-West Unity, and North Central invited several local business to the Superior Building in Locomotive territory.  More than twenty accepted the invitation, as a tri-district job fair was held in the facility’s gym on Wednesday, May 13.

A multitude of options stood before those prospective employees looking for a full-time, or even just a part-time position.  Corporations such as Powers and Sons, Kamco, C.K. Technologies Staffmark, Winzler Stamping, and 20/20 were on hand taking applications, as were Evergreen Manor, Job1USA, Elwood Staffing, and the Montpelier Village Recreation Department, just to name a few.

Cookies and juice were served outside of the gymnasium as a looped video provided facts about unemployment and the need for a college degree to obtain a job, or lack thereof, in some cases.

Overall, the event was well attended, with a steady flow of traffic entering and exiting the building throughout the two hours that the fair took place.  High school students from each district, as well as full blown adults looking to put their name in at some of the area’s more successful businesses frequented the gym, keeping their potential employers busy throughout the afternoon.
