Pioneer administrator Al Fiser said that the old grocery store building on State Street and and an empty apartment building on the corner of Baubice and Cedar Roads have been demolished.

A building right across from the old grocery store that used to be a dentist office will be opening soon, as a meat market.

“They have been doing a lot of work to get it ready and are now just waiting on final permits from the state,” Fiser said. “There are also plans for a Family Dollar/Dollar Tree type store to go in at the old grocery store property, possibly by November.”

There are no current plans for any building at the old apartment site.
