The Wire Monkeys, a dedicated FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics team based in Alvordton, Ohio, are eagerly preparing for the upcoming FIRST Ohio State Competition following their recent advancement from the Kent State Qualifier.

Throughout the season, the team has been hard at work brainstorming, testing, building, and programming a multifunctional robot designed to tackle the challenges of placing pixels on a backboard and launching an airplane.

Their mission extends beyond just building a robot, and in addition to perfecting their mechanical masterpiece, the Wire Monkeys have also been actively engaging in outreach events and fundraising efforts to support their journey.

The Wire Monkeys’ sister team, Country Club Robotics, advanced to the FIRST Lego League Ohio State Competition. The team has worked all season building and programming a Lego robot to complete missions, working to also create a solution to a problem relating to people’s hobbies.

With the FIRST Ohio State Competition for both teams set for March 9th and 10th in Troy, Ohio, both teams are filled with excitement as they anticipate the thrill of the competition arena.

For those eager to follow along with the teams on their journey to the FIRST Ohio State Competition, be sure to check out their Facebook page at “ftcwiremonkeys.” If you are interested in sponsoring the team, contact them at ftcwiremonkeys@gmail.com .
