Tyson Lee Hoch, 41, of Grovetown, Georgia, passed away on Friday, Aug. 31, 2018 in Grovetown.
A celebration of life will be held at Savannah Rapids Pavilion from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8. A later celebration will also be held in Bryan, Ohio, at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Friday, Nov. 23.
Tyson was born in Bryan, Ohio, to James L. Hoch and Cyndi L. Held on Nov. 24, 1976. He attended Bryan High School and was a 1995 graduate. He married Beth Katcher Hoch on Sept. 16, 2006 in Johnson City, Tennessee. He graduated from East Tennessee State with a Bachelor’s of Science degree. He worked as a project engineer/estimator for Gearig Civil works.
His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and his love for the outdoors. He especially had a passion for carpentry, disc golf and kayaking.
Tyson is preceded in death by his father, James L. Hoch; his paternal grandfather, Fred O. Hoch; Richard C. Held; and maternal grandfather, James R. Bishop.
Tyson is survived by his wife, Beth; his sons, Sawyer and Finn; his brother, Jason (Ruth) Hoch; and sister, Allsyn (Jeremy) Herman; his parents, Cyndi and Loren Held. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces, Jacob Hoch, Casen Herman, Amelia Herman, Cole Herman and Hensley Hoch; maternal grandmother, Genevive R. Bishop; paternal grandmothers, Lois A. Hoch and Wanda R. Held.
Memorials may be given to MSA Hospice of Augusta or Sarcoma Foundation of America. In lieu of flowers, please send pictures and experiences you had with Tyson in a card to his sons, Sawyer and Finn.
