VARSITY FOOTBALL: Eastwood Overcomes Slow Start To Beat Wauseon, 35-13

Eastwood 35, Wauseon 13

PEMBERVILLE – Eastwood tallied 35 unanswered points Friday night as the Eagles clipped Wauseon, 35-13, in non-league action.

Wauseon (0-3) had taken a 13-0 lead into the second quarter as the Indians got on the scoreboard first with quarterback Kahle Albright found Logan Peaslee on a 24-yard scoring pass for a touchdown.


Albright was 7 of 18 for 109 yards through the air for Wauseon. Peaslee had three catches for 67 yards and a touchdown.

Collin Mennetti then booted a pair of field goals for the Indians covering 26 and 30 yards.

From there, it was all Eastwood (2-1) with quarterback Brayden Luidhardt connecting on a pair of touchdown passes to Cam Schroeder (20 yards) and Edward Opfer (17 yards). Opfer also returned a fumble for another Eastwood score covering 45 yards.


Luidhardt completed 18 of 24 passes for 199 yards and two scores for Eastwood.

Wauseon looks for its first win on Friday at Evergreen (3-0) to begin Northwest Ohio Athletic League play.
