August 22nd, 2016

Napoleon 5, Archbold 0
In first singles Andrea Braun of Napoleon defeated the Streaks’ Darby Stevens with scores of 2-6, 1-6. Second singles saw Aliza Lankeran topped Caroline Kinsman 5-7, 3-6. Isabel Krieger was defeated in third singles by Ashley Rieger 1-6, 1-6. In doubles action Morgan Perry and Amanda Payne battled Napoleon’s Missy Smith and Reilly Steffel. At the end, Smith and Steffel took the win with scores of 3-6, 7-6 (2-6). Second doubles saw Melyana Stuckey and Belle Clark fall 1-6, 0-6 to Abby Weller and Brittney Schreiber.

Wauseon 3, Toledo Christian 2
The Indians took a victory in second singles and swept the doubles matches as they gained their first win of the young season. Sarah Becker was the lone winner for Wauseon in singles action as she won with scores of 6-2, 6-3. Paige Moden fell in first singles 1-6, 2-6 and Maddy Wendt was defeated in third singles 6-0, 1-6, 4-6. The Indians first doubles team of Samantha Martin and Liv Ladd were 6-4, 5-7, 6-6 (7-3) winners while Kaitlyn Sager Bekah Rees won in second doubles 6-4, 4-3 (F).

August 23rd, 2016

Springfield 5, Archbold 0
The Streaks fell to 0-4 on the season. In first singles Caroline Kinsman fell 0-6, 0-6. Darby Stevens was defeated in second singles 1-6, 1-6 while Isabel Krieger battled in third singles before falling 4-6, 1-6. Morgan Perry and Amanda Payne lost 1-6,0-6 in first doubles and Itzy Gaona and Leah Miller were defeated in second doubles 1-6, 0-6.


Wauseon 5, Rossford 0
Paige Moden, Sarah Becker and Maddy Wendt swept singles play as the Indians notched the win over the Bulldogs. Moden won with scores of 6-0, 6-4 while Becker was a 6-1, 6-0 winner and Wendt won handily 6-0,6-0. The story was the same in doubles play where Liv Ladd and Samantha Martin were 6-4, 6-6 (10-5) winners in first doubles and Bekah Rees and Kaitlyn Sager swung to victory in second doubles with scores of 6-2, 6-2.
August 25th, 2016

Maumee 3, Wauseon 2
Maddy Wendt was the lone winner for the Indians in third singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win. Wauseon jumbled their lineup to move some doubles players into singles action. Samantha Martin, usually spotted in first doubles, was defeated in first singles with scores of 0-6-, 1-6. Liv Ladd who normal plays with Martin in first doubles took a 0-6, 0-6 defeat in second singles. The flip-flop continued as normal first singles player, Paige Moden teamed up with Sarah Becker, normally second singles, in the first double match. The Wauseon pair were defeated 2-6, 4-6. Kaitlyn Sager was then teamed up with an incoming freshman, Sierra Rupp. The team defeated their Maumee opponents with scores of 6-4, 7-5.

Archbold 5, Rossford 0
The Blue Streaks got their first win of the season with a dominating shutout over the Bulldogs. Darby Stevens, (6-2, 6-3), Caroline Kinsman (6-0, 6-0), and Isabel Krieger (6-0, 6-1) sweep singles matches and Melayna Stuckey and Amanda Payne were 6-1,6-0 winners in first doubles and Itzy Gaona and Belle Clark won the second double match with scores of 6-3, 6-1.
