STRYKER (May 12, 2026) — Stryker and Fayette played earlier in the season and the Eagles took a 6-5 victory.

The tables were turned on a cold and breezy afternoon when the Panthers scored an 8-1 victory to win their first game of the season.

Stryker (1-12) rode the hot arm of Peityn Crosser who pitched the complete-game win and contributed 13 strikeouts.

The first inning was scoreless after both teams went down in order. Fayette had the first real scoring threat in the second inning.

With one out in the second, Monroe Simon reached on a single and got to third on a throwing error after a steal attempt.

Crosser settled in and got the final two outs on swinging strikeouts to quash the threat. The Panthers went down in order again to move to the third where Fayette started another rally.

After a walk to Maycee Beers and a strikeout, Addison Schang reached on a two-base error to put runners on second and third with just one out.

Crosser came up big again, getting Willow Mitchell to pop out and then striking out Kayla Sliwinski to end another threat.

Fayette pitcher Ellie Williams was cruising along until the third when she gave up a pair of walks to Addalee Fulk and Mackenzie Cherry to put runners on first and second.

Crosser singled to load the bases. Amelia Elling hit one back to Williams who took the easy out to first base that scored Fulk but a throwing error allowed Cherry to score for a Panthers 2-0 lead with Crosser standing on second.

Crosser stole third base then scored on a wild pitch for a 3-0 lead. Jaiden Palmer was walked and moved to second on a fielder’s choice.

Palmer stole third base but was picked off by the catcher after straying too far off third for the final out of the inning.

Reilly Bailey started the fourth inning lining a shot down the right field line for a triple. Crosser collected another strikeout but gave up a single to Sophia McClain that scored Bailey to make it 3-1.

That was all the Eagles could muster as Crosser got the next two batters to fly out. The score remained 3-1 until the bottom of the fifth inning when the Panthers extended their lead.

Williams got the first batter to strike out and then gave up a single to Crosser who stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch.

Elling hit an infield single but was unable to move Crosser. Palmer hit a rocket to center field that scored Crosser and moved Elling to second base and gave the Panthers a 4-1 lead.

A ground out by Mackynzie Drewes moved the runners up a base and brought Reagan Myers to the plate. On a 3-2 count, Williams got Myers to chase one in the dirt for the strikeout but the ball got away from the catcher and Myers made it down to first base while two runs scored.

Williams got the final out of the fifth on a strikeout but the damage was done as Stryker took a 6-1 lead into the sixth.

Crosser gave up a single to Bailey but struck out the side to end the Fayette sixth inning.

Stryker scored two more runs in their half of the sixth after Crosser scored on an error and Schang crossed the plate on a Palmer double.

After a groundout, Fayette put a pair of runners on in their top of the seventh but could not push those runners across the plate and ended the game on the losing end of an 8-1 contest.
