FAYETTE (September 29, 2025) – With one week left until the OHSAA tournament draw, every win is important. Edgerton came up with one that may influence where the Bulldogs are seeded in Division VII, with a 25-17, 15-19, 25-21 over Fayette.

That triumph makes Edgerton 11-8 on the year, and according to Bulldog Krista Pahl, they are in prime position to control where they want to go on Seeding Sunday.

“I know we are going to be in the middle, I’m thinking about a five seed, and we are kind of used to that.”

“It’s not a bad place to be because we would be right in the middle of the pack, and we can kind of sit back and watch the placement and decide where we want to go, so it really isn’t a bad place.”

Big-hitting Olivia Farnham stuck three early kills, and Cara Schroeder, along with Aubrey Patrick, nailed aces as Edgerton jumped out to a 12-4 first-set lead.

Kelsie Storrs’ deep push and consecutive Ellie Williams aces brought the Eagles back to 12-8, then Storrs’ second two-hand push of the set made it 14-11.

At that point, Farnham took over again. The Bulldog senior drilled four more of her eight first-set kills, Ava Giesige aced the Eagles, and Olivia Wallace went cross-court for another kill to put Edgerton back in control for the initial set win.

A pair of Giesige kills, a Farnham ace, and Ava Swank’s scoring shot ran Edgerton out to a 14-7 second-set lead. This time, it was sophomore Kennedy Kunkle who brought the Eagles back.

Kunkle’s push to an open area helped Fayette climb back to 14-11, and after two aces by Swank made it a six-point margin, Kunkle slammed back a Bulldog attack, hit a shot from the middle, and knocked back a second Edgerton attempt to close the gap to 19-18.

Farnham answered back with a middle kill, then Wallace knocked out the Eagles with a pair of aces for the second set victory.

Three straight Giesige aces after a Wallace kill in the third gave Edgerton a 13-7 advantage. Again, Kunkle led a charge back with two middle shots and a tip for a score to get the Eagles close, then Kayla Sliwinski popped a left side shot to knot the set 14-14.

Storrs’ push and Kunkle’s tip put the Eagles ahead 16-15, but the Bulldogs had an answer, and it came in the form of Farnham.

Once, then twice, Farnham went high in the middle for kills to regain a Bulldog lead at 18-16. “When we have her in the three rotations where she is in the front, you can definitely tell,” Pahl said. “The kids go to her, and she gets the job done.”

A series of Fayette attacks that went off course made it 23-17. Storrs again got one push in an open spot, then crawled one over the net to close the gap to 24-21, but Giesige’s tip finished it off.
