SWANTON (August 21, 2025) – Swanton remained undefeated in the young volleyball season, with a resounding 25-11, 25-9, and 25-15 rout of Delta. The Bulldogs are now 3-0 on the season, while Delta fell to 2-2.
“From Monday night (at Stryker) to Tuesday against Hicksville, then to tonight, we got much sharper,” Bulldog coach Kyle Borer said.
“Tonight, our ball control was good. We still have some things to clean up on defense, but tonight we tried to spread the ball out and get everyone the ball, and our unforced errors were fewer than the other two matches.”
Swanton set the tone for what the entire match would look like as they raced out to a 7-0 first-set lead. Lexi Faber got the salvo started with a back row kill, and Emma Forrest tacked on a pair of right side shots to give the Bulldogs a big lead.
Keagyn Gillen did her best to keep Delta in contact with two scores from the middle, and along with Claire Bates’ left side hit, the Panthers stuck within 12-6.
However, Faber and Kinley Curtis loaded up five scoring shots to give the Bulldogs a double-figure lead, and Curtis went back-to-back with aces to end the first set.
The combination of Faber and Curtis nailed four of the first seven points in the second, and this time, Swanton kept extending the margin.
Cara Ludlow’s blast from the left made it 13-3. Curtis’ right side kill and ace, combined with another Faber kill, boosted the score to 16-5.
Jordyn Ramirez stuck an ace, Madison Roytek scored from the middle, Ava Lewis sprawled for a dig that beat the Panthers on the other side, and Forrest finished off the second with a right-side shot in the 25-9 romp.
The third set turned into the Kinley Curtis show, as the sophomore recorded eight kills and two aces in the set, two of those kills were board-splitting bullets from the back row.
“I think just like Tuesday, our hitting percentage was good, and our game from the back row was good as well,” Borer explained. “When we were out of system a little bit and we went back row, Kinley and Lexi were really on.”
Beyla Remer added in two aces, then Kaylee Mosko got a shot down from the middle to finish the match.
