Village Of Montpelier Large Trash Pickup

Officials for the Village of Montpelier have announced the annual Large Trash Pickup. Days for pickup are arranged according to your usual day of pickup. The schedule is as follows:

Then your Spring Trash Pickup Dates Are:

Monday
April 22nd & April 23rd
Tuesday
April 24th & April 25th
Wednesday
April 29th & April 30th
Thursday
May 1st & May 2nd

A flyer distributed by the village office states:
Please place any large bulky household items such as furniture, appliances, and large junk along the curb. Smaller items must be contained in plain garbage bags or in boxes and also placed along the curb.
A maximum of one dump truck load per address shall be allowed. There will be a charge applied for additional loads.
Residents are advised that trash shall only be placed at the curb 24 hours prior to pickup or an extra charge shall be applied.

Montpelier’s Codified Ordinance shall be strictly enforced and violators will be prosecuted.
Any Senior Citizen that would like assistance with placing their trash at the curb, please call the town hall at 419-485-5543.

To assist the village, please separate your trash into piles as listed:
Concrete, bricks
Metal objects, washers, dryers, water heaters, piping, stoves, etc.
Furniture, wood and miscellaneous junk not covered either above or below.

The following items will be accepted for a fee:

(Stickers for the following can be purchased at the town hall)
Appliances containing Freon gasses – $15
Examples: Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, etc.
(The $15 fee covers Freon gas removal and certification.)
Tires
Car tires – $3 each; truck tires – $6.00 each; tractor tires – $25.00 each
(These fees cover the village disposal cost.)

The following items will not be accepted:

  • Garbage (picked up on garbage day only)
  • Grass and yard waste (These cannot go to the landfill at any time)
  • Roofing and/or construction materials. (Arrangement for truck can be made at time of removal, and there is a charge for disposal.)
  • Paint cans with liquid paint. (To dry, remove lid several days in advance of pick up.)
  • Liquid household cleaners and chemicals.
