The Village of Pioneer celebrated the addition of a splash pad to Crommer Park this Thursday. Beginning at around 5:20pm, trick-or-treaters attended this event to kick off their night of excitement.
The plans to build the splash pad were approved earlier in the year. The ceremonial ribbon cutting took place this evening on a warm Halloween night.
Adults and children alike gathered for the unveiling ceremony, accompanied by pictures to represent what it will look like in its completion.
Several community members gathered around the sign for a picture and to watch the ribbon cutting. Many are excited for this addition to the park, as it will be a great way to cool down on a hot summer day.
Splash pads are beginning to grow in popularity, with many surrounding communities having one or planning to add one soon. Pioneer is no exception to this trend.
The honor of cutting the ribbon for the community was given to three trick-or-treaters dressed as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The village council then cut their own ribbon as well. Council members attending included Dean Frisbie, Joe Nickloy, Trever West, and Randy Cochran. Mayor Edward Kidston and Village Administrator Anthony Burnett were in attendance as well.
After the ceremony was over, many hopped on their golf carts or began walking to continue their Halloween fun. The splash pad is set to open in Summer of 2025, just in time for peak season.
