The Wauseon Board of Education held its meeting on Friday, April 10, at the Wauseon Primary School, where members approved an amended agenda that included a resolution requesting certification of estimated tax rates for a renewal income tax.

The board also heard presentations from Wauseon Elementary School Principal Theresa Vietmeier and Wauseon Primary School Principal Blake Young.

Members approved the minutes, monthly bills and financial reports, then and now items, and fiscal year 2026 appropriations. Total appropriations for all funds were listed at $34,057,734.10.

The board also accepted several donations, including $100 from the VFW Auxiliary of Wauseon for the WPS Tech Free Campaign, $300 from North Star Bluescope Steel to the FFA Department, and $10,395 from an anonymous donor to the athletic department.

Personnel items were then approved before moving to agreements with Grow Your Mind, LLC for occupational therapy services and the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center for services during the 2026-2027 school year.

Overnight trips were approved for the speech program to the NCFL Grand National Tournament in Washington, D.C., and the NSDA Speech and Debate Finals in Richmond, Virginia.

Several NEOLA policy updates were approved, including revisions related to vacation, job-related expenses, entrance requirements, grading, class rank, purchasing and bidding, procurement, credit cards, vendor relations, and food services.

New policies were also approved for use of the district tax-exempt certificate and affinity, rewards, or other discount programs, while the district’s artificial intelligence policy was replaced.

The board also approved the resolution requesting certification of estimated tax rates for a renewal income tax.

Members then entered into executive session to discuss the possible purchase or sale of property, with no action taken afterward.
