The Wauseon School Board started their August 14, 2023 meeting by welcoming 38 new employees for the 2023-2024 school year.
Following an executive session to discuss compensation of an employee the board approved the following Treasurer Consent Items as presented:
-The monthly bills and financial reports.
-Accepted with gratitude the following donations: $1,000.00 from an anonymous donor to the Wauseon School Food Service Donation Key; miscellaneous clothing items from Ace Hardware to the Wauseon Primary School; 120 – 2 oz bottles of Lemyn Hand Sanitizer Gel from Wurth Luis and Company to the Wauseon Elementary School; 120 – 2 oz bottles of Lemyn Hand Sanitizer Gel from Wurth Luis and Company to the Wauseon Middle School; $3,380.00 from Fulton County Job and Family Services to Wauseon Schools.
The board then approved the following personnel items:
-The Administrative Retirement Pick-up Schedule as presented.
-The Supervisor Salary Ranges and Supervisor Placement for the 2023-2024 school year as presented.
_The Rachel Wixey and Associates Substitute List as presented.
-Offered a one-year limited certificated contract to Nicholas Pepple as a WMS Mathematics Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.
-Offered a one-year limited classified contract to Ana Roldan as the EL Program Aide for the 2023-2024 school year.
-Accepted the resignation for the purposes of retirement from Brenda Robison as the WMS Principals’ Secretary, effective January 1, 2024.
-Accepted the resignation from Shirley Bledsoe as the WMS Cook/Monitor, effective July 31, 2023.
-Accepted the resignation from Jacob Ramos as a JH Wrestling Coach, retroactive to August 10, 2023.
-Approved Jacob Ramos as a Volunteer Wrestling Coach for the 2023-2024 school year.
-Offered the following staff members a one-year limited supplemental contract for the 2023- 2024 school year: Kevin Kreiner – Archery Coach; Alexander Redmon – Assistant Speech Coach; Lucas Schang Piano Accompanist.
-Approved Amy Kreiner as a Volunteer Archery Coach for the 2023-2024 school year.
-Approved Audrey Strayer as a Student Pool Worker for the 2023-2024 school year.

The board then approved the 2023-2024 agreement with the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center/Juvenile Residential Center at $85.00 per student per day (JDC) and $90.00 per student per day (JRC) as presented.
The September meeting of the Wauseon Board Of Education will be held on September 8, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Wauseon High School.
