Mrs. Brenda Robison, Wauseon Middle School Secretary, was recently selected as the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrator’s Statewide Secretary of the Year for 2015.
The selection process started with a nomination from Mr. Joe Friess, WMS Principal, followed by an application packet that included information about Mrs. Robison from other staff members, students and WMS parents. The last step involved an application review by a team of OASSA administrators who scored the applications using a rubric with the best applicant, Brenda, ending up with the highest score at the end of the process.
Shared quotes about Mrs. Robison that were part of the application submission for this award: “…And of course, what better way to start the school day than walking into the building and seeing a vibrant, smiling and kind adult waving hello to you as you walk in? In my eyes, as well as every other student that attends Wauseon Middle School, Mrs. Robison is kind and helpful, though stern when she needs to be. She strives to make our school a better place and does wish for every student to succeed.” – Excerpt of a statement from a WMS Student
“…Mrs. Robison is always smiling and willing to help. She has that natural ability to make you feel like you are the center of her attention and you are her number one priority. She is the steady certainty that is very much needed in a middle school setting. She is professional, helpful, supportive, empathetic, and a great influence on our middle school students.” – Excerpt of a statement from a WMS Parent
“Besides her initiative and excellent work habits, Brenda is one of the kindest and most genuine people I know. She develops a positive rapport with students, staff members, parents and administrators. There is an inherent trust when working with her and her strong communication skills set the tone for our office as a welcoming and helpful place.” – Excerpt of a statement from a WMS Staff Member
Mrs. Robison was presented with the award by Josten’s Representative Brad Held following a brief introduction made by Mr. Friess. The recognition presentation was part of an annual professional development conference for over 200 administrative assistants from all over Ohio held in Columbus.
