In a meeting held Tuesday, December 10th, Williams County Clerk of Courts, Kim Herman presented a Memorandum of Understanding to the commissioners.

The memorandum is regarding the communications tower located at 13065 County Road D-50 in Bryan. The agreement will remain in effect until the tower’s destruction or until superseded by a new deal and has no costs associated with it.

The commissioners also met with the Williams County Engineer’s office to open bids for the County Road 15.75 flood and drainage project.

Six bids were submitted for the project, with the highest bid at $508,202.67 and the lowest at $371,940.06. The pre-bid estimated cost for the project was $596,851.00.

Bids will be checked, and the math will be done in hopes of having a recommendation back to the commissioners by their next meeting.

“We want to get the documentation signed by the end of the year to obligate the township money they have,” stated Maumee Valley Planning Executive Director Dennis Miller. A construction schedule will be worked out after a contractor is chosen and documents have been signed.

In other news, the commissioners agreed to put a third police cruiser in the budget for this year for the Williams County Sheriff’s Office.

In a previous meeting this year, Sheriff Kochert had asked that a third vehicle be budgeted in as several of their cruisers were getting high in mileage.

The following resolutions were also approved by the commissioners:

-An agreement between the Williams County Commissioners and Bowser Morner Engineers for soil exploration for the Hickory Hills WWTP Project.

-A resolution received from the Northwest Township Trustees, passed on November 25th petitioning the commissioners to vacate Eureka Drive in Northwest Township, the commissioners scheduled a public hearing on Thursday, January 9th.

-An Amendment to the Original Contract between the Williams County Commissioners and Jones & Henry Engineers for the construction, engineering, and inspection for the Alvordton Sewer Project.

-An agreement between the Williams County Board of Commissioners and the Williams County Humane Society for the Humane Society to assume the duties and responsibilities of the County Dog Warden under the Ohio Revised Code.

-An agreement for Technical Assistance between the Board of Williams County Commissioners and Maumee Valley Planning Organization for assistance in administration of grant funding for Grant Number B-X-24-1DA-1 to be paid with grant funds.

-Various transfers
