The Williams County Commissioners approved several projects around the county during the Tuesday, May 26, 2026, session.

Updates on the Stryker water tower project, courthouse sidewalk work and county employee insurance benefits were discussed. Commission President Scott Lirot, Bart Westfall and Terry Rummel were in attendance.

Improvements to the water tower and control panel in the Village of Stryker were officially given the notice to proceed. Commissioners approved entering into a formal agreement to begin work and an extension to the contract timeline.

According to the resolution, Williams County had previously accepted and awarded the project to L&T Painting at a cost not to exceed $588,800.

Of that amount, $134,000 will be funded through the Community Development Block Grant allocations, with the remaining balance and approved additions to be covered by the Village of Stryker.

Commissioners also approved a concrete expansion to be included in the ongoing courthouse sidewalk project.

Located in the Bryan Square, an additional cost of $10,340 was accepted to lengthen the current sidewalks by two feet. The overall cost of the project has increased to $24,340.

The board additionally approved updates to the Williams County employee life and vision insurance coverage following recommendations submitted by Beth Pool of Andres O’Neil & Lowe.

An executive session was later entered at 1 p.m. regarding employment matters at the request of Rummel. No action was taken afterward.
