TRUSTEES MEETING … Pulaski Township Trustees met on Tuesday, May 26, discussing the approval for a bid to replace the township office building roof.

Pulaski Township trustees met in a regular session on Tuesday, May 26 with trustees Tom Saul, Terry Witte and Scott Noble in attendance. Fiscal Officer Deanne Batterson and Zoning Inspector Todd Burkholder were also present.
Regarding the roof repair project on the township office building, an insurance coverage payment of $42,895 was received due to recent weather damage.
Following the approval of the insurance coverage payment, trustees then approved Schmucker Quality Construction of Fort Wayne to replace the roof at a cost of $89,895. The remainder of the cost will come out of the township’s general fund.
Witte said the roof repair is expected to begin in August. It will take a month to complete the project. He also noted that the engineering design for the roof must receive state approval.
Trustees approved the purchase of a new Grasshopper mower from Tom’s Lawn and Garden of Bryan at a cost of $13,000.
Funded through the general fund, it will replace an older mower that has experienced ongoing mechanical issues. Additionally, a motion was approved for the purchase of a fireproof safe for the township office at a cost of $559.99.
Trustees approved a resolution accepting a recycling trailer donated by the Williams County Health Department.
The township will accept responsibility for upkeep and insurance and continue to monitor the usage of the recycling trailer.
Saul had received a complaint from a township resident about a cat nuisance problem in Pulaski. He said the resident suggested the township should have a catch-and-release program where they catch and take them to the Williams County Humane Shelter.
Noble updated on the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Road Sign Grant, which provides up to $50,000 for sign replacements; the deadline to submit grant applications is June 5. Noble plans to contact road supervisor Steven Hobeck to determine which township signs need replacement.
Burkholder reported that he approved a zoning permit for an accessory building and addressed a couple of zoning violations.
The meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m. Next meeting is Tuesday, June 9 at 6:30 p.m.
