During the meeting on Tuesday, March 18, the Williams County Commissioners decided to wait for Commissioner Rummel’s return, who was absent, before making a final decision on the right-of-way appeal.

The commissioners had previously decided against appealing the right-of-way, with Commissioner Westfall expressing disagreement.

After further discussion, Commissioner Scott Lirot requested additional time to conduct more research and engage in further discussion before a final decision is made.

The commissioners also discussed the North Annex, noting that the engineer had some questions that needed addressing. They will review the preliminary plans and discuss them further in Thursday’s meeting.

Additionally, the commissioners signed a proclamation declaring March 19, 2025, as Carlton Hardy Day. Carlton is a dedicated member of The Kiwanis Club of Bryan and recently celebrated his 100th birthday

A National Adoption Day Celebration will occur on Saturday, November 22, at the Courthouse. Williams County Job and Family Services will use this day to promote foster care in the county during the event.
