Williams County Grand Jury Hands Down 13 Indictments

(PRESS RELEASE) – On December 17, 2024, the Williams County Grand Jury considered indictments charging individuals with Williams County crimes, according to the Williams County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Those indicted were:
-KAYLA BURKHARD, age 31, of Edgerton, Ohio, was indicted on one account of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol, a Drug of Abuse or a Combination of Them and one account of Improperly Handling Firearms In A Motor Vehicle.

-COLTAN WILLSON, age 20, of Bryan, Ohio, was indicted on one account of Improperly Handling Firearms In A Motor Vehicle.

-REBECCA RUSSELL, age 27, of West Unity, Ohio, was indicted on one account of Strangulation.


-SAMUEL JOHNSON, age 19, of Fayette, Ohio, was indicted on three accounts of Strangulation.

-BUD SAWYER II, age 45, of Bryan, Ohio, was indicted on one account of Vandalism.

-TRACE STILTNER, age 22, of Bryan, Ohio, was indicted on one account of Grand Theft and one account of Forgery.


-CHRISTIAN SMETZER, age 20, of Bryan, Ohio was indicted on one account of Grand Theft and one account of Forgery.

-ZACHARY CHERVENKA, age 32, of Edgerton, Ohio was indicted on two accounts of Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Police Officer, one account of Felonious Assault, two accounts of Endangering Children, and one account of Aggravated Possession of Drugs.

-STEVEN TRUMBLE JR., age 49, of Camden, Michigan, was indicted on one account of Aggravated Possession of Drugs.

-THOMAS COBB JR., age 49, of Hamilton, Indiana, was indicted on one account of Aggravated Possession of Drugs.


-TIMOTHY RARICK, age 35, of Kendallville, Indiana, was indicted on one account of Aggravated Possession of Drugs.

-ASHTON BIGGER, age 19, of Defiance, Ohio, was indicted on one account of Intimidation of an Attorney, Victim or Witness and one account of Attempted Tampering With Evidence.

-STEVEN NOYKOS, age 73, of Bryan, Ohio, was indicted on one account of Rape.

It should be noted that an indictment is merely an accusation, and that all criminal defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
