The Williams County Grand Jury convened on Tuesday, May 22, and handed down indictments against 20 individuals who face a total of 39 charges. Those indicted include:
Michael L. Bail, 47, of West Unity was indicted on a total of four counts including two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, each a fifth degree felony; one count of possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony; and one count possession of heroin, a fourth degree felony. It is alleged that, on or about February 2, 2018, Bail possessed or used methamphetamine, Tramadol, and cocaine. Specifications to the counts include that Bail was in possession of $1900, which it is believed was instrumentally used in the offenses, at the time of the offense and that those funds are subject to seizure and forfeiture.
Amber N. Birky, 25, of Alvordton was indicted on one count of endangering children, a third degree felony. It is alleged that Birky, on or about October 12, 2017, allowed a child under the age of 18 to be on the same property and within 100 feet of certain criminal actions when she knew that those actions were occurring.
Ronald M. Bohmler, 29, of Wauseon was indicted on one count of illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility, a third degree felony; one count of trafficking in drugs, a fifth degree felony; and one count of possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony. It is alleged that, on or about September 11, 2017, Bohlmer carried Xanax onto the grounds of the Corrections Center of Northewst Ohio and that he has previously been convicted of a drug offense.
Kaleb M. Craig, 18, of Edgerton was indicted for breaking and entering, a fifth degree felony. The indictment alleges that Craig broke into a residence with the purpose to commit a theft offense on or about December 26, 2017.
Matthew J. Harris, 34, of Edgerton was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony. It is alleged that Harris possessed or used methamphetamine on or about August 31, 2017.
Codie R. Haskell, 26, of Alvordton was indicted on one count illegal cultivation of marijuana, a second degree felony, and one count of endangering children, a third degree felony. It is alleged that, on or about October 12, 2017, Haskell cultivated marijuana within the vicinity of a school or juvenile.
Brandon S. John, 29, of West Unity was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony. It is alleged that John possessed or used methamphetamine on or about August 29, 2017.
Kayleen K. Justinger, 26, of Defiance was indicted for failure to appear, a fourth degree felony. It is alleged that Justinger failed to appear as required by the court in connection with a felony charge on or about May 10, 2018.
Nicholas A. Karpanal, 39, of Waldron, Michigan was indicted on one count of failure to comply with the order of a signal of a police officer, a third degree felony; two counts of felonious assault, each a second degree felony; and one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony. It is alleged that, on or about May 11, 2018, Karpanal caused or attempted to cause harm to others as well as fled from or willfully tried to flee from a police officer. It is also alleged that Karpanal possessed or used Methamphetamine.
Virginia A. Meadows, 48, of Edgerton was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony. It is alleged that Meadows possessed or used methamphetamine on or about August 31, 2017.
Michael V. Nelson, 46, of Grelton, Ohio was indicted on one count of illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility, a third degree felony, and two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, each a fifth degree felony. It is alleged that Nelson possessed methamphetamine and Fentanyl and tried to carry them into the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio on or about November 10, 2017.
Krystal L. Oehler, 36, of West Unity was indicted on a total of five counts including three counts of aggravated possession of drugs, each a fifth degree felony; one count of possession of heroin, a fifth degree felony; and one counts of possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony. One aggravated possession charge is in relation to an August 2017 incident when it is alleged that Oehler possessed or used methamphetamine. The other four charges are in relation to an incident which occurred on or about February 2, 2018. It is alleged that Oehler possessed or used methamphetamine, heroin, Hydrocodone, and film patches. Specifications to the counts include that Oehler was in possession of $1930, which it is believed was instrumentally used in the offenses, at the time of the offense and that those funds are subject to seizure and forfeiture.
William L.C. Ogle, 23, of Montpelier was indicted on one count of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drug of abuse, a first degree misdemeanor, and one count of hiring firearms in a motor vehicle, a fifth degree felony. It is allege that on or about May 16, 2018 that Ogle was driving a vehicle while impaired and that he was carrying a firearm in the vehicle at the time.
Joel S. Ramos, 44, of Bryan was indicted on one count of domestic violence, a third degree felony. It is alleged that Ramos caused or attempted to cause harm to a family member on or about April 30, 2018 and that Ramos has previous been convicted of two or more domestic violence offenses.
Tyler R. Richards, 38, of Alvordton was indicted on count of aggravate possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony. It is alleged that Richards possessed or used methamphetamine on or about August 31, 2017.
Lacone Scott, 38, of Bryan was indicted on one count of tampering with evidence, a third degree felony, and one count of possession of heroin, a fifth degree felony. It is alleged that on or about May 19, 2018 that Scott possessed or used heroin and tried to destroy or conceal or destroy the evidence during the investigation.
Devon A. Shidler, 20, of Hicksville was indicted for improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle. It is alleged that, on or about April 24, 2018, Shidler carried a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle and that the firearm was accessible to the operator or any passenger without leaving the vehicle.
Raven A. Sipes, 24, of Alvordton was indicted for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony. It is alleged that, on or about August 31, 2017, Sipes possessed or used methamphetamine.
Caleb M. Smart-Bibbs, 20, of Toledo was indicted on two counts of harassment by inmate, each a fifth degree felony. It is alleged that Smart-Bibbs spat on two corrections officers on or about April 5, 2018.
Timothy A. Thompson II, 31, of Hicksville was indicted on one count of illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility, a third degree felony, and one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony. It is alleged that Thompson possessed methamphetamine and tried to carrying it into the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio on or about March 6, 2018.
It should be noted that an Indictment is merely an accusation, and that all criminal defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
