An offer made for a new duplex house in Edgerton was highlighted at the Williams County Port Authority meeting on Monday, September 8.

The duplex house costs $190,000, and board member Sean Rupp said that is what the Port Authority had asked for. Rupp told board members the contract for the duplex house has already been signed by the purchaser.

“A local investor picked it up and then put both units out on the market when they are ready,” he said. They have some interest in more units as we get that going.” The board then approved the motion on the duplex house offer.

Rupp updated board members on the price increase for air conditioning equipment on a house located on 404 Clear Fork Drive in Pioneer, with the board approving it. “The price of the air conditioner went up by $1,700,” said Rupp.

An update on the senior housing project financing portion has been finalized and is in place. “The project engineer is working with the Bryan city engineer’s office to finalize calculations and to figure out the best approach forward,” said board member Dawn Fitzcharles. “All things considered, this project is our potential next.”

She then added, “Once the final application (financing) is submitted for next year, we have a better idea of what we’re working for the future.

“Until the final construction cost comes in, which we don’t know until this time next year. Right now, we’re on target and moving forward.”

Board member Glen Newcomer updated the board on the Montpelier project and noted that he is very optimistic about the negotiations.

The board then went into executive session to consider the purchase of property (real or personal, tangible or intangible) with no action taken.
