The Williams County Port Authority met Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Present were Dave Newcomer, Dawn Fitzcharles, Sean Rupp, John Drinnon, Stacy Lillard, Dick Reed, Tyson Stuckey, and Bill Martin.

After the minutes for the February 22 meeting were approved, the Authority deliberated interest in acquiring office spaces from the Bryan Area Foundation.

They currently do not have their own office, and this would allow for them to obtain a clerk and filing capabilities.

The Authority decided to wait until legitimate estimates were provided for the utilization of these office spaces and will be addressed next meeting.

The bills through March 27, 2023 were then approved before the formal acceptance of two grants given to the Authority to offset acquisition costs of land that will be used to further the development of housing in Williams county.

Grant funding has been applied for, and the Authority should know by April 10 whether or not they were selected to receive funds that have been applied for.

After discussing property purchase plans, the Authority touched on the issue of garnering engineers to work subdivision building projects planned for West Unity.

They need an engineer to plan the projects so that they can put out bids for the work to be completed, and ODOT requirements increase with grant funding so the selection is slim.

The Authority also approved $5,000 in compensation for work completed on the recently sold

Montpelier property after its sale before entering executive session at 6:14 p.m. to discuss property purchases.

The next Williams County Port Authority meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
