Williams County Safe Communities Releases Traffic Fatalities Update For Second Quarter 2023

Montpelier, Ohio – The Williams County Safe Communities Fatal Data Review reports one fatal crash in Williams County for the second quarter of 2023 during the months of April, May, and June 2023.

This compares with the second quarter 2022 report of 3 fatal crashes during the same time frame.  Williams County reports 3 fatal crashes with 3 fatalities as of August 10, 2023, with 3 Commercial-Related, 1-Failure to Yield-Related, 2 Mature-Related and 3 Unbelted-Related crashes for 2023.

Countermeasures discussed at the Fatal Data Review Meeting included continued traffic safety awareness education for restraint use and impairment/distracted driver safety awareness.

Williams County for YTD 2023 vs YTD 2022 fatal comparison is at -4. This comparison indicates 2023 crash fatalities are less 4 when compared to 2022 for the same time frame. Information sourced from the Ohio State Highway Patrol website.
