
PRESS RELEASE – You are invited to a free Manure Workshop with lunch and morning refreshments hosted and sponsored by Williams and Fulton Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCD).
The meeting will be held Thursday, January 29, with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Kissell Community Center, 509 North Main Street in West Unity, Ohio.
The day will include presentations covering manure management, storage, application, and utilization from the Ohio Department of Agriculture and Ohio State University Extension staff.
Topics will include cover crops for nutrient management and soil health, a manure spreader calibration demonstration, mortality composting in Ohio, on-farm containment and management, Ohio Department of Agriculture manure regulations, and H2Ohio program manure management rules.
The afternoon will close with a local farmer ‘poo panel’ consisting of Tony Herman, Garold Keppeler, Lincoln Nafziger, and Logan Richer sharing their knowledge and experiences.
Four CLM (Certified Livestock Managers) CEU credits will also be available for attending the event.
