The Delta Village residents gathered to celebrate the annual Winterfest event arranged by the Delta Chamber of Commerce. The event took place on Saturday, December 2nd, starting at 3:00 p.m. and ending at 7:00 p.m.
Sponsored by the Delta Legion, this year’s event focused on promoting local shopping. It offered live music, kids’ activities, hot dogs, hot cocoa, and cookies.
The event also featured a special appearance by Santa Claus, who was available for pictures with the children of Delta from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Additionally, a $5 Chamber Buck offer was available to everyone who spent $25 at local businesses during the event.
At 5:00 p.m., a lighting ceremony took place downtown, accompanied by a Delta Marching Band performance.
Following the ceremony, the Delta Christmas Parade began at 6:00 p.m. The parade moved down main street with Santa hitching a ride on a Delta Fire Engine.
Kirsten Fruchey, a representative of the Delta Chamber, expressed her excitement about the event.
She stated, “I am thrilled. We have had an overwhelming amount of support from local businesses, the village, and the police department. Truthfully, a lot of people have worked hard to make this day a success.”
