Archbold, Ohio — The 38th annual Woodcarver’s Show and Sale — Sauder Village’s premier woodcarving showcase — will be held at Founders Hall on Oct. 25-26, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This highly anticipated event offers a unique opportunity to experience the artistry and craftsmanship of talented regional wood artisans.
The juried exhibit will feature dozens of skilled craftsmen, each showcasing their individual style and talent.
From intricate figurines to detailed sculptures, visitors will see a wide range of methods, including woodburning, woodturning and other traditional woodcarving techniques.
“All of our events are essential to our mission, but the Woodcarver’s Show and Sale holds a special place in our hearts as it honors Erie Sauder’s legacy in woodworking,” said Autumn Owens, Event Planner at Sauder Village.
“It’s always inspiring to see how today’s artisans carry forward long-standing traditions, while also bringing their own creativity and innovation to the craft.”
In addition to the exhibit, visitors will have the opportunity to purchase handmade pieces and woodcarving supplies directly from our vendors, making it the perfect chance to find unique gifts and shop small for the upcoming holiday season.
This event is open to anyone interested in learning about the art of woodcarving. Admission to the show is $10 at the door or included with the price of your Sauder Village daily admission or membership.
For those interested in trying the craft for themselves, a special woodcarving class taught by local carver Todd Martin will be held at the Heritage Inn on Oct. 27. To register for the class, “Carving a Santa Whistle,” visit saudervillage.org or call us at 1.800.590.9755.
Whether you’re an experienced wood artisan or simply curious about the artform, the Woodcarver’s Show and Sale has something for everyone.
