West Unity Man Indicted On Thirteen Rape Related Charges

November 26, 2018No Comments2 Mins Read

The Williams County Grand Jury convened on November 20, 2018 and returned a thirteen-count indictment against Scotty R. Tressler, 38, of West Unity. Charges include eight counts of rape, each a first-degree felony; three counts of gross sexual imposition, each a third-degree felony; and two counts of kidnapping, each a first-degree felony.

Court records indicate that the charges come in relation to multiple incidents occurring between the dates of January 2012 and January 2018. Court records also indicate that the victim(s) of the alleged charges were young boys between the ages of 6 and 13 at the time of the offenses.

Several specifications related to the Grand Jurors specifying Tressler as a sexually violent predator, finding that Tressler purposely compelled the victim(s) by force or threat of force, finding that the victim(s) were less than 10 years of age at the time of the offense, and that the kidnappings were committed with sexual motivation are included in the indictment.

Tressler has been housed at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio since his arrest on October 26, 2018 while the case was being bound over from the Bryan Municipal Court. Tresslers initial appearance was set for November 20, 2018, with his arraignment scheduled for November 30.
