Montpelier High School Marching Band Performs “Sounds of the Stadium” Concert

MONTPELIER. The Montpelier High School Marching Band on Sunday, November 3 performed an afternoon concert to close out the Marching Band Season. The Marching Band performed in the high school auditorium a selection of songs and performances from the fall season.

Performances included a Pregame Selection, a Swing Show, a 90s Show and a Senior Show. According to Band Director Jennifer Kustec, the songs performed represent a culmination of the marching season and stand tunes the band has performed throughout the fall.

Additionally, at the afternoons performance, awards were presented for outstanding achievement. Awardees were Colin Rockey for Outstanding Freshman Marcher, Brandon Turner for Outstanding Sophomore Marcher, Connor Link for Outstanding Junior Marcher, Ivan Moor and Regan Steffes for Positive Spirit, and Collin Turner, CJ Roth along with Jared Rediger took home the Most Improved Award. The 3 senior members of the band, Martine Ortega, Sarah Sandoval and Regan Steffes also received Senior Awards.


Director Kustec stated, “this is the first one of these events, and I hope to make this an annual event for the Marching Band. The kids have really been a close knit unit and I am proud to highlight the work they have done this season to make it the success it has been.”

The band also announced several upcoming events. At 3 p.m. on November 17th the band will participate in a combined choral concert at Otsego High School; December 6th at 5:30 p.m. the band will hold a Locomotion and Jazz Band Preview Show and Dinner at the high school; December 8th at 3:30 p.m. the Junior High Choir and Band Concert in the auditorium at the High School, and on December 15th at 3:00 p.m. a High School Choir and Band Concert in the auditorium.

All of the members of the marching band, along with Director Kustec would like to thank the community for supporting today’s event and for their support throughout the fall. The band looks forward to many successful future events and for continued outstanding support for the hometown Locomotives.
