North Central Unable To Overcome Early Deficit, Fall To Fairview

December 18, 2013Updated:December 31, 2020No Comments2 Mins Read

In varsity action, the North Central Eagles would fall behind to the Fairview Apaches early on in the game, and would be unable to catch up. Fairview would go on to get the win by a score of 62-46.

It did not take long for the Apaches to grab a lead. While only two players were able to find the bottom of the net for the Eagles, six different players would score for Fairview in the opening quarter, allowing them to jump out to an 18-5 lead after one quarter.

A trio of three point shots is all the offense North Central would be able to muster in the second quarter. The Apache lead would grow to 20 points by halftime, as Fairview owned a 34-14 halftime lead.

Clayton Ferguson would do his best to get the Eagle’s back in to the game in the second half, nailing four three point shots in the third and fourth quarters. The Apache offense proved to still be too much for the Eagles to handle with ten separate players scoring for Fairview in the contest. The Apaches would hold a 46-30 third quarter lead,  and eventually defeat the Eagles by a 62-45 final score.

Clayton Ferguson’s five three pointers helped him to lead the team in scoring with 19, Dylan Hutchison followed notching nine points, Braden Turner tallied up a total of six, Chase Legacy contributed four, Josh Sawyer had three, and Ethan Douglas and Jordan Bailey both finished with two.
