Lady Locos Push Aside Maumee Valley Country Day

MONTPELIER 1/13/2014—Montpelier would jump out to a huge first quarter lead against the Maumee Valley Country Day Hawks, and would not look back. The Locos went on the win the contest by a convincing score of 62-22.

The Loco’s domination of the contest started early on in the night, as they would jump out to a 22-2 lead in the first quarter. Montpelier would control the glass all night, outrebounding  MVCD by a wide 33-18 margin.

Steals would also play a key role in the Loco victory as well, as Montpelier would pick pocket the Hawks 18 times. At the half, it would be the Lady Loco’s holding a 29-10 lead.

Their lead would expand in the third period, outscoring MVCD 18-7, and making it 47-17 at the end of three periods of play.

If their was any doubt that the Locos had complete control of the game, Montpelier would keep their foot on the gas in the final quarter, scoring 15 more points, and expanding their lead by ten, and going on to win 62-22.

Hannah Blake’s 29 point night lead the scoring totals for the night. Baylee Hageman was also in double digits, scoring 13. Maddie Richmond contributed five, Audrey Pirtle was next in line with four points, Mckenna Quaderer contributed three, and Bre Stein, Landri Mckelvey, Regan Steffes,  and Malorie Yagelski each finished with two points.
