Roger L. Lantz, age 73, of Fayette, passed away Monday evening, September 28, 2020, at Community Health Professionals Hospice Residence in Defiance. He was born in Wauseon on April 12, 1947, to Orville L. and Gladeen E. (Dietrich) Lantz. Roger attended and graduated from Gorham-Fayette High School. He then served his country in the United States Army.
He worked for many years as a truck driver, and then several years at IAC in Wauseon. In his spare time, he loved riding his Harley, restoring old trucks, tinkering and wrenching on things, and watching old black and white westerns. Roger also enjoyed attending services at Fayette Christian Church.
Surviving Roger are his son, Chris (Tonya) Lantz; grandchildren, Dustin, Paige, and Skylar Lantz, Melissa Valentine, and Dakota Brooks; great-grandchildren, Brexsen Lantz, Chase, Corbin, and Leora Valentine, Maddox Bishop, Nylah Brooks, and Isaac Kuney; sisters, Beverly (Larry) Sines and Janice (John) Allen; nephew and nieces, Wendy (Rodney) Kessler, Tiffany Flathers, and Michael Allen; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rodney Lantz; and a great-granddaughter in infancy, Nevaeh Brooks.
Visitation for Roger will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, at Eagle-Marry Funeral Home, Fayette. Private funeral services will be held following visitation, with Pastor and Cousin Frank Hibbard, officiating. Public interment will follow at Pleasant View Union Cemetery, Fayette, with military rites accorded by the Fulton County Honor Guard.
