GIRLS BASKETBALL

VARSITY

Wauseon 52 Tinora 43

Marisa Seiler had 22 points and 18 rebounds to lead Wauseon to a hard fought win over Tinora. The Indians led 24-11 at halftime before the Rams used a 16-6 third quarter to draw within 31-27. Wauseon (5-1) was able to hold off Tinora in the final stanza by going 11/19 from the free throw line. Autumn Pelok was next in the scoring for Wauseon with 13 points.

Bryan 63 Defiance 32

Shallyn Miley had 14 points as Bryan shook off a slow start to get the win over Defiance. The Golden Bears led just 12-9 after the first quarter but outscored the Bulldogs 20-3 in the second half to take control of the game. Reese Grothaus also reached double figures for Bryan (6-0) with 10.


Montpelier 46 Northwood 24

The Locos upped their record to 4-1 on the year after a 46-24 win at home over Northwood. Jessi Bumb paced the Montpelier attack with three triples on her way to 13 points on the night.

Hicksville 42 Edon 18


The Bombers struggled offensively falling into a 22-4 hole at halftime of the Route 49 Classic Championship game against Hicksville. Sydney Bignell, who was named to the All-Tournament team along with teammate Carlie Kiess scored five points to top Edon.

Antwerp 40 Edgerton 30

Antwerp had eight players score led by Asti Coppes with nine points as they knocked off Edgerton in the consolation game of the Route 49 Classic. Edgerton, who trailed just 20-17 at halftime, were paced in scoring by Audrey Schroeder who had 12 points.

The visitors from Henry County took control early leading 21-10 after one quarter and 39-18 at halftime. Tucker Beres led the Cadets (0-6) offense with 10 points in the loss.

Archbold 59 Fairview 31

Austin Roth knocked down four of the team’s seven three-pointers and had 14 points on the night as they cruised by Fairview 59-31 in a non-league contest. DJ Newman added 10 points for the Bluestreaks, who are now 3-2 on the season.

Defiance 2574 Bryan 2454

Bryan won all three Baker matches (203-187,212-159, 193-190) but were unable to overcome the advantage Defiance had after match play. Matt Meade led the way for Bryan with a 232 in game one and 180 in game two for a 412 series. Dominic Boothman was next for the Golden Bears with a 399 series, including a 220 in game two.
