Fayette Board Of Education Learns Prom & Graduation Are Approved

Fayette School Board met for their regular meeting on April 19, 2021 at 6:30 p.m.

Superintendent Angela Belcher reported that the school has applied for the Century 21 Grant which will include a before and after school program as well as summer programming for students. They have received guidance from the Health Department for hosting a Prom and an in person Graduation and have guidelines in place for these safe events.

Treasurer Kelly Bentley reported that the the State Auditors have completed the audit for FY 20. The Bond Refunding/Refinance is complete and the district will save $270 over the term of the bonds with an average bond rate of 1.9%.

Jon Molter, HS Principal, informed the Board of the following:

-Tornado safety week was completed this past week for students and safely practiced the drills led by SRO, Officer Bill.

-Student council is planning a Relay for Life Event with a Disney theme for the students to participate. All activities will follow guidelines for safety protocol.

– Seniors have planned mini day trips in lieu of a traditional senior trip.

– FFA held their annual awards banquet as a modified version (Covid friendly) on April 10th.

Allie Reucher, Elementary Principal shared that Kindergarten registration will take place on May 3rd. Information has been posted on the school website for details.

There are currently 25 students registered. State testing began on April 13th and will continue thru the 30th. Jump Rope for Heart raised $4,773.85 this year and was the most they have ever raised.

Technology Coordinator Becky Short reported that the district will be purchasing a new lunchroom POS system that will replace the Arcadia Meals Plus system. The new Payschool POS for meals will be ready for the students in August for the FY22 school year.

The Board voted to approve the following:

-The financial report for March 2021.

-Donations: $1,000.00 from JFS/Ohio Job Means for Class of 2022 for Safe Prom activities; $300.00 from Morenci Eagles for Class of 2022 for Prom activities; 2350 disposable masks for students from Fayette Circle K; concrete work at Flag pole Areas at the Sports Field Area by Sly and Sons at a value of $200.

-The monthly updated sub Teacher and Para list from NwoESC for FY21.

-Non-renewal of supplemental 1 year contracts for 2020-2021.

-An unpaid leave for Mariah Downing on April 9, 2021.

-Mackenzie Miller as a substitute cafeteria worker for FY21, pending proper reference and background checks

-The Memorandum of Understanding between GFTA and Fayette School Board of Education for Article V, Section H Item 1

-FMLA leave for Amy Hibbard on April 13, 2021 – May 20, 2021.

-The following for bus and van drivers physicals:

a. Dr. Theobald – Activate Clinic

b.Dr. James Williams – Tri County Chiropractic

-Three-year agreement with HPC (Healthcare Process Consulting) to provide services in managing Ohio Medicaid School Program beginning July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024 for an annual cost of $4,000.

-Services with Eric Prall, Managing Director of Hilltop Securities, Inc for refunding bond structure of the 2021 Series A Bonds.

-Brad Ruwe of Dinsmore & Shohl LLP as Bond Counsel for bond refunding for the 2021 Series A Bonds.

-One-year contract with NwoESC for Mentor program for 2021-2022.

With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:53 p.m.
