Northwest State To Host Summer Camps For Students Of All Ages

ARCHBOLD, OHIO – Northwest State Community College will host a series of hands-on summer camps for learners of all ages, beginning on June 7 with Babysitting 101 – Basics to Being a Babysitter. The camp season will wrap up on July 14.

This year’s summer camp subjects include many of Northwest State’s academic divisions, including STEM & Industrial Technologies, Arts & Sciences and Nursing & Allied Health, and Business & Public Service.

All camps will be hosted at the Archbold campus, and campers can expect fun, hands-on learning activities as part of their action-packed camps.

For all grade ranges listed below, it is the last grade students finished unless the camp specifies otherwise.

The camp listings are as follows:


JUNE CAMPS
Babysitting 101 – Basics to Being a Babysitter
Dates: June 7-8
Ages 12 & up

Beginning Robotics
Dates: June 14-17
Grades: 4th-6th

Discovering STEM
Dates: June 7-9
Grades: 5th-6th


Make It Camp
Dates: June 21-22
Grades: 4th-7th

Safety and First Aid Camp
Dates: June 15 & June 22
Grades: June 15: 4th-7th – June 22: 7th-8th

Agriculture is Life – Literally
Dates: June 21-23, and June 29-July 1
Grades: June 21: 7th-8th – June 29: 9th-12th


Robots and Drones on Asteroids
Dates: June 28-July 1
Grades: 5th-8th

JULY CAMPS
Exploring STEM
Dates: July 5-7
Grades: 7th-8th

Advanced Robots
Dates: July 5-8
Grades: 5th-8th

Sticks and Stones and Bones
Dates: July 5-8
Grades: 6th-8th

The Science of Food
Dates: July 12-14
Grades: 5th-7th

Entrepreneurship Summer Camp
Dates: July 12-14
Grades: 6th-12th


NEW SUMMER CAMPS
Creative Arts
Dates: June 21-22 OR June 28-29
Grades: 1st-3rd

LEGO Mission to Mars
Date: June 21-24 OR July 12-15
Grades: 1st-3rd

ADULT SUMMER CAMPS
Adult Drawing Camp
Dates: Wednesdays June 9, 16, 23 & 30

Sumo Bots
Dates: June 21-23
High School students & adults welcome

How to Succeed in College
Dates: June 28-July 1
High School and College students welcome

Dr. Todd Hernandez, President at Northwest State, noted “The NSCC summer camps mainly focused on STEM and advanced manufacturing in recent years, but our faculty across campus have really brought some innovative camp ideas to fruition this summer, and we’re excited to see campers of all ages at the College.”
