The Bryan Municipal Utilities Board held their meeting on Tuesday July 20th at 5:00pm. The board first moved to approve the minutes from the regular meeting on June 15th and the special meeting on June 28th.
The board then moved to hear any concerns from the public that were present and not already on the agenda. With no one there to speak the board moved to the Clerk-Treasurer’s report. A motion was made to accept the report which passed.
The board then heard from Daryl Bowling from Suez Advanced Solutions regarding the city’s water towers. Daryl let them know that inspections had been completed on the two towers in the city. The Fountain City Tower looks good but will need to have the exterior overcoat redone around 2023 as well as touchups and an interior wash out.
The Bryan City Tank will need to have the exterior overcoat redone in 2022 as well as the exterior pole sanded, and the interior washed out. There will also need to be a wet interior replacement done in 5 years.
The board then moved to hear about a water main extension. There was also a request to authorize educational assistance for Kevin Douglas who is attending Northwest State Community College.
Another request was also made to place a water department employee on regular employment status. Both of these issues were approved. The next request was to reclassify a clerk-treasurer’s office employee to an assistant office manager position which was approved.
The board then moved to pay all the bills before hearing comments from the BPA and staff. It was then moved to enter executive session before adjourning for the evening.
