The Evergreen High School hosted a career fair for juniors and seniors as well as the local community on Wednesday, March 23rd.

The event was open to students throughout the day from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and until 5:00 p.m. for the public.

The school partnered with Fulton County Ohio Means Jobs as well as the Fulton County Economic Development Corporation to host the event. The event was also first of its kind for the school.

During the event employers sat at booths which the students could come up to. Mock interviews were also allowed for employers to conduct as well as some potential hiring opportunities with the ability to obtain a job during the event being a possibility.

In preparation for the event, Carla Hinkle from the Fulton County Ohio Means Jobs worked on giving guidance to the juniors and seniors before the event.

Suggestions included how to make a resume and interviewing skills. In addition to their resumes and interviews, students participated in three breakout sessions that were related to life after graduation.

These sessions included notifications from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, advice from EHS alumni, and information from Fulton County Ohio Means Jobs.

The event saw around twenty-five employers who were present in the gymnasium to provide opportunities to the students.

Employers spoke to the students about their future and what they are looking for in an employee. Afterwards, employers stated that they thought the event had been a success.
