The Village of Blakeslee held their meeting on Sunday, June 26th at 4:00 p.m. Council first heard from Fiscal Officer Beth Rediger who reported that the revenue received since the last council meeting was in the amount of $3,800.

Expenses however were in the amount of $5,400. This increase for the expenses was due to the Village roof needing to be repaired since it was leaking.

The cost of labor and materials was approximately $3,400. Bob Mohre proceeded to ask if insurance had been contacted to see if they would cover any of the costs, if it was due to wind damage.

Rediger replied that they had not been contacted but that she will contact them. Council then moved to approve purchase orders as presented.

The minutes for the previous meeting held on May 15th were then approved before council moved to hear and approve the following legislative action.

Emergency Resolution 06-2022-01 to accept the amounts and rates as determined by the Budget Commission and authorizing the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the County Auditor.

Mayor Muehlfeld then informed council that the new fly mower should be coming in around July 1st.  The audits for 2020 and 2021 were then discussed with only one minor remark being stated.

The village does not have a record retention policy and the cost of an audit should be around $350. Rediger then informed council that her replacement will be the current Florence Township Clerk Courtny Osborn.

Osborn will be invited to the next meeting and should be able to start in September. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
