EDGERTON JOB FAIR … Fourteen companies were on hand for a job fair at the town hall in Edgerton.

By: Anna Wozniak

The Williams County Economic Development Corporation (WEDCO) hosted a job fair last week at the Edgerton Village town hall.

WEDCO had caught wind of a local manufacturing company needing to lay off more than 65 people, and so they proactively put together a job fair to try and mitigate the stress that being laid off can cause to both the economy and the individuals.

Fourteen different companies came together at the job fair, reminding everyone that this was a proactive community rescue mission.

Francesca Shufelt brought out Franscesca’s Mexican Cuisine and Catering, serving tacos and delicious tres leches. Jen and Chris Faus, along with their son Corey, were also serving up Rolling Fire Pizza to hungry attendees.

Ashley Epling, the Executive Director of WEDCO, noted that this event was able to be put together on less than a week’s notice quite effortlessly due to the commitment and participation of the community.

The businesses that made this event possible were: 20/20 Custom Molded Plastics, Ltd.; Edon Farmers Co-Op; Francesca’s Mexican Cuisine and Catering; The Hicksville Bank; Kamco Industries, Inc.; K&M Transport; Koester Metals, Inc.; The L.E. Smith Company; Manufactured Housing Enterprises, Inc.; Oren Elliott Products; Rolling Fire Pizza; Spangler; Titan; Vision Color; and Wausau Supply Company.
