The Delta Area Chamber of Commerce held a meeting for its members on Wednesday, March 8th. The meeting began at 11:30 a.m. and started off with a presentation from two representatives of small business.
Jill Badger from the Small Business Development Center and Ebony Carter from the Minority Business Assistance Center spoke to members of the chamber about the sort of help they are able to offer.
Each of the members were also offered a flyer that goes over the business development services offered.
These services are provided to businesses through the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce and a majority of them are offered at little or no cost to businesses.
The meeting itself then took place. These meetings are bi-monthly and help to act as a place local businesses can network.
Chamber Vice President Kirsten Fruchey explained that the goal is to support the smaller businesses, and businesses in general, as they build their network, resources, and contacts around them.
This is done by getting to know other community members and by receiving professional development tools like those offered by the two individuals that spoke.
The meeting also touched on several other areas including upcoming events within the village. The Chamber will be holding its annual golf outing again this year on June 15th.
Dancing in the Street was also touched on and that will be held on August 4th. Safety Village for the schools will also be put on this year with a date that is not yet set.
The chamber is of course also looking for new members/organizations who would like to join.
