The Fulton County Museum and the Fayette Opera House worked together to bring “We Own This Now” to the local area.

Performed by “Ted and Company,” the play begs the question of what it means to own something. It takes place through various parts of history and touches on several different topics of ownership.

From the lands found and conquered by Europeans to eminent domain, the play tries to put forward the idea that just because you own something, doesn’t mean it was that way before and doesn’t mean it will stay that way.

Things could have been taken, purchased, sold and borrowed in ways that are not right in a morale sense.

The play was sponsored by Beverly Miller who was a former member and volunteer. She was familiar with the play and its performers before she passed and had expressed a desire for the play to be shared with the community.

The show itself was created by Allison Casella Brookins and is directed by Bryan Rafael Falcón with movements by Michelle Milne.

Performers Ted Swartz and Michelle Milne are the only actors bringing the story to life on stage, with each of them pushing the story forward through prop and costume changes.

The play held two shows on Friday, April 21st with the first one being held at 1:00 p.m. This first show saw 150 students from the Fayette Local School District come to see the show. A second show was later held that night at 7:00 p.m.

More events are scheduled for the Fulton County Museum. Anyone who is interested in learning which events are coming up can head to their website or visit their Facebook page.
