FULTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS: Bid Opening Held For Health Department Project

The Fulton County Commissioners held their first meeting of the week on Tuesday, April 18th. The meeting began at 9:00 a.m. with a bid opening for ditch hearing 2145 – Busch, before moving on to perform the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer.

Minutes from the April 13th meeting were approved next along with the current agenda and list of bills for payment.

Reviews took place next of the Ohio Unemployment Rate Report for February 2023 and weekly dog warden reports for weeks ending April 1st and April 8th. The following agenda items were then approved.

– Resolution 2023-322 Increase & Transfer Appropriations for Various Departments.

– Resolution 2023-323 Approve Inter County Transfer for JFS.

– Resolution 2023-324 Approve Inter County Transfer for JFS.

– Resolution 2023-325 Approve Inter County Transfer for JFS.

– Resolution 2023-326 Approve Draw #1 for CDBG Project- Skye Cinema B-E-22-1AX- 1.

– Resolution 2023-327 Approve Pay Request #1 to Breckenridge Kitchen Equipment for Contract 2022-93.

– Resolution 2023-328 Award Bid for 2023 Fulton County Seal Coat Program.

– Resolution 2023-329 Enter Into Contract 2023-77 with Gerken Paving for the 2023 Asphalt Resurfacing Program on Behalf of Engineer.

– Resolution 2023-330 Approve Waiver of ALS Charges.

– Resolution 2023-331 Enter Into Contract 2023-78 with Sprout Social.

– Resolution 2023-332 Enter Into Contract 2023-79 with Skye Cinema.

– Resolution 2023-333 Enter Into Contract 2023-80 with Fulton County Health Center for Resident Project Representative.

– Resolution 2023-334 Approve Personnel Request on Behalf of JFS- New Hire.

– Resolution 2023-335 Approve Purchase Orders and Travel Requests.

Commissioners then heard from Stephanie Moore from the Fulton County Humane Society in order to discuss a Humane Agent.

It was stated that animal welfare organizations find themselves at the forefront of one of the most important social issues of the time, animal cruelty.

Discussion then followed regarding Humane Agents in the county and Ohio law that, Stephanie stated, places the Humane Agent under the purview of the Humane Society’s Board of Directors.

Commissioners were informed that they have already received their police training needed to better handle situations that may arise and that previous existing resources in the county will be worked with as well.

It was also stated that the county already has a Humane Agent that is employed throughout the county and that the liability for the Humane Societies agent would be separate.

With no other business to attend to, the meeting was adjourned at 9:37 a.m.

The commissioners then held their second meeting of the week on Thursday, April 20th. The meeting began at 9:00 a.m. with a bid opening for a Fulton County Health Department project.

The cost was estimated to be around $2 Million with the following bids being received. Boyers Construction for $1,495,370, The Dotson Company for $1,330,000, Mel Lanzer Co. for $1,477,000, Midwest Contracting for $1,297,275, and Rupp/Rosebrock Inc. for $1,509,986.

The Pledge of Allegiance was then performed along with a prayer. Minutes from the April 18th meeting were approved along with the current agenda. The following agenda items were then approved.

– Resolution 2023-338 Increase & Transfer Appropriations for Various Departments.

– Resolution 2023-339 Approve Legal and Authorize Ad for Ditch Improvement Project 2147- Amboy Twp.

– Resolution 2023-340 Approve Legal and Authorize Ad for the CDBG 2nd Public Hearing.

– Resolution 2023-341 Approve Purchase Orders and Travel Requests.

With no other items left to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 9:06 a.m.
