(June 17th, 2015) – HICKSVILLE: In game two of a doubleheader between the Bombers and Aces, Edon couldn’t capitalize on a great start as Hicksville gradually overtook their guests from Williams County.  Despite a strong effort, the visiting Bombers just didn’t have the firepower to match the consistent Hicksville assault.

Edon was defeated by the Aces 7-3.

Right out of the gate, the Bombers established an advantage.  In the top of the first, they put up 3 runs to take the lead over a defensive-minded Aces squad.  Hicksville responded with a run in the bottom of the first, and 2 more in the second, tying the game near its midpoint.  They then racked up 4 runs in the third to put the game away, with neither side adding to their respective totals in the last 2 innings of play.

A double by Preston Klingler gave the Edon offense a spark.  The other 4 hits amassed by the Bombers were all singles, collected by Tyler Seaman, Travis Siebenaler, Carson Brandt, and Landon Brandt.

It was the former Brandt who took the loss from the mound for Edon, as Carson pitched the final 2.2 innings against the Aces.  He allowed 5 runs off of 6 hits, striking out 1 Hicksville batter.  Klingler, whom Brandt relieved, lasted 1.1 innings throwing the ball.  He gave up 2 runs from 2 hits while at the mound, earning 1 strikeout and allowing 2 walks in the loss.
