Wauseon Author Keri Aeschliman Blends Faith & Farming In Writing

Keri

Keri Aeschliman is a rural Wauseon farm girl, home school graduate, and now recently published Christian author of In Paths of Righteousness. This fictional story is set in Minnesota in the late 1800s and follows the story of a young boy who must decide whether to follow the path of deeply rooted religious tradition or a faith to die for. Keri’s faith and farming background are deeply integrated into the story.

Keri never set out to become a published author. Her story began as a writing assignment for school. It piqued her interest, and she decided she wanted to write more and expand the idea. The story has a clear Biblical message. “It was important to me that the message came across clearly,” Keri stresses.

The story took a few years to come together. Keri relates that if she became stuck in her writing, she would stop and pray that God would show her the direction to take whether it meant putting her writing down for a day, a week, or even six months. “I asked God to give me the words,” she shares.

When she finished the work, she had no idea how to go about getting the book published. Through a friend of an acquaintance, she was introduced to an editor who wanted to take a look at her book. The editor, who edits for the Christian publication Voice of the Martyrs and shares common Christian values with Keri, asked if she could publish the book. Of course, Keri agreed.

For anyone who desires to write their own story, Keri advises, “Don’t be discouraged if it takes a long time. If you hit a brick wall, come back to it.”

Keri is the daughter of Scott and Sheryl Aeschliman of rural Wauseon. She has two younger brothers, Derek and Jason. Her family is great encouragers of her writing. She credits her mother and grandmother for supporting her with good ideas and encouragement when she needed it most as she wrote her first novel. Her sequel to In Paths of Righteousness is currently in the beginning stages.

In Paths of Righteousness can be purchased through her website http://www.storiesbykerinicole.blogspot.com/. If they are purchased through the website, she will personally sign the book. Books can also be ordered at amazon.com. Keri invites everyone to her upcoming book signing at Cabin Fever Coffee at 312 Clinton Street, Defiance on July 15th from 9:00-11:30 a.m.
