Motorcycle Accident With Deer & Semi Claims Life In Rural Bryan Overnight

Bryan – The Defiance Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash which occurred August 9, 2015 at approximately 12:19AM on US 6 east of County Road 16 in Pulaski Township, Williams County, near the city of Bryan.

A 2001 Harley Davidson, driven by 37 year old Solomon H. Meade of Bryan, was westbound on US 6 when it was struck by a crossing deer.  Both Mr. Meade and his passenger a 34 year old Melody A. Bridges of Bryan were ejected from the motor cycle.  A 2003 Freightliner conventional semi, driven by 60 year old Ricky Valdez Yeager of Cassopolis, Michigan, was westbound on US 6.  The Driver of the semi did not see Ms. Bridges, who was lying in the roadway injured, and struck her.

Ms. Bridges was pronounced dead at the scene.  Mr. Meade and Ms. Bridges were not wearing helmets during the crash.

The Highway Patrol was assisted by Williams County Sheriff’s Department, Williams County Coroner, Bryan Fire Department, and Williams County EMS.  The crash remains under investigation.
